About the Book

Life should have been happy and full of hope for Maldon, Viscount of Malicor. Named for Malicor's first earl who overthrew the rule of the gods, Maldon and his earldom were envied by many within the Kingdom of Aachen for their wealth and prestige. To secure his country's future, his upcoming marriage to the beautiful daughter of a Highland Prince will seal a treaty of peace between the two nations.

As the sun sets on the Kingdom of Aachen, Maldon finds the journal of his great-great-grandfather. In its pages, he discovers that his world is but one of innumerable others spread across the galaxy, bound in a struggle for survival against a race of slaver insects far crueler than any enemy he could ever have imagined.

Maldon soon discerns the legacy of honor that has been passed down to him across countless family generations by men and women who paid the price of freedom so that others might live in peace.
