Nyeusi (meaning "Black" in Swahili), a collection of Spoken Words in Poetry is by a writer who is part of the poetry movement that is spreading worldwide. About the Author

Lloyda was born in Guyana, South America, the daughter of an African mother, and a Cuban Jamaican father. At age 16, after graduating from St Joseph?s High School, she attended Brooklyn College to become a teacher. She soon began writing poetry. Lloyda lives in Manhattan and worked for several investment banking firms while keeping her talents hidden as a ?closeted writer.?

Lloyda received the International Poets? Award in 2001 for her poems The Exhibitionist and Who Dialed 911.
