About the Book

How does one survive personal loss-divorce, life-threatening illness, separation from a child, and ultimately, the death of those we love? In Tides and Tears, the creative and well-educated Shane deals with all of these life issues while struggling to complete a new novel in which his main character suffers physical pain and humiliation at the hands of an abusive woman.

In many ways, Shane is defined by the women who occupy his life: Delilah, his selfish ex-wife; Catherine, his adorable young daughter; Ruth, his well-meaning younger sister; and Neena, his new love. With Neena, Shane begins to make sense of his life.
