This book is titled The Efficacy of the Christian Faith Compared to Islam, and as such, there must be some evidence that supports that belief. Either the Christian belief has the power to change lives and keep the believer on a righteous keel or it doesn’t. There can not be any fanciful ideas or sloppy theology that draws someone to the cross of Christ.
When we study anything about God or any claim by any religion about God, there should be things we can see that give evidence that what the religion touts is of the true God. If love is the basis of what is proclaimed by any religion, we should see that love manifesting itself and mimicking the god who is proclaimed.
One of the most outstanding acknowledgements about God that we see in the Hebraic and Christian beliefs is His desire for mankind to know Him. God goes out of His way in order for His creation to know Him, comprehend (at least in part) and to become one with Him. We may call it a mystery that God would want us to know Him since He is so beyond man’s make up and power. Yet God calls out to us to come, abide, tarry, wait, sojourn, rest, and walk with Him; all of these verbs call us to an action with its center to focus upon God. He wants us to know Him!
Christianity’s whole premise and foundation rest on the belief that God’s Son was born on the earth to set mankind free from the waywardness of man’s disobedience to God’s will and ways. Jesus, God’s Son, was to be the propitiation to God on mankind’s behalf.
Islam totally denies that God has a son and considers it a blasphemy to even speak of such a reality. Islam rejects that Jesus was God incarnate or God the Son, stating that he was a man who, like other prophets, had been divinely chosen to spread God’s message. Islamic texts forbid the association of partners with God, emphasizing the notion of God’s divine oneness.
Christianity teaches that in all things with God it is very important not to be repetitive in our worship of God. Doing things over and over again does not constitute to God true worship; prayer, celebration and daily living must all be performed because one is in love with God and truly desires to be one with Him instead of only submissive to Him.
Islam’s worship takes on more of a dictatorial approach, and it is mandatory for each of its believers to adhere to its Five Pillars of faith. The Five Pillars of faith are (1) Profess their faith (shahadah) at all times; (2) Perform five daily prayers (salat); (3) Annually contribute alms (zakat); (4) Annually perform a thirty-day fast (siyam); and (5) Make at least one pilgrimage (hajj) to Mecca during the believer’s lifetime.
Christianity teaches that man’s fall into sin separated mankind from God’s relationship with Him and put a wedge that only a proper sacrifice could rectify. The Biblical mandate that it is blood that brings about the remission of sin requires someone, a human, who must shed blood to bring forgiveness. The blood that is required must be perfect and not contaminated with sin itself. Therefore, God in His mercy, love and understanding, provided a way for the perfect blood to be shed for the remission of sin. He provided through His Son, Jesus.
History records the way of Christianity and the way of Islam and maps out the course each took in its quest to touch mankind for God’s glory. Islam, which I have proven, made its way into history through the man Muhammad, who made himself a prophet of Allah. Christianity rests on the centuries of people, places, and events that fulfilled many ancient writings and promises found in the Hebraic/Christian Scripture. Islam took for itself a title that was contrary to the ancient writings which came before it. Islam titled itself as the “Only true religion” while Christianity takes no such title, but rather cries “Come, taste and see!”
Christianity, for the most part, has never thought of war as a means to propagate its tenets, although some individuals have in times past used their conquest to teach Christianity to the local population. War, as a whole, in Christianity is not a choice for evangelism or the winning of populations. Christianity has spread throughout the world by means of its nature of love. In each case, when Christianity touches an individual or nation, we see compassion, generosity, and freedom. These three attributes come from the belief in a God who cares and desires the best for each individual. Even in a war setting Christianity requires compassion and understanding;
Obviously there is a great gulf between Christianity and Islam. Obviously, those differences mean spiritual life or death to the believer, and one would be wise knowing those differences. There can’t be any acceptable compromises when one considers either Christianity or Islam; one must be accepted and one must be rejected. Either Allah is God or he is a liar, either Jesus is who He claimed to be and the Bible is the Word of God, or it isn’t. I say it is!
We must understand that there can be only one authority and one king; the authority of Heaven and its king, King Jesus. The Christian believer is part of the Heavenly Kingdom of God and his king is King Jesus. Islam is trying to change the earth into the likeness of its king, Allah. It is trying to usurp the King of Kings, Jesus, and bring about its authoritative government of demonic rules to all mankind. The Christian believers must stand firm in true faithful understanding of who they are and use their authority to stop Islam and Allah.
