Hello and welcome to my world. My name is Sheila J. Cline-Bass and I am the Owner of Transformations Salon Consulting. To get right to the point of why you are even reading this, let me explain that this book was written just for you, the salon professional. It is my sincere hope that this book will assist you in taking your business to the next level through retailing. As a licensed cosmetologist, former distributor sales consultant or account executive (known better as a sales rep.), I have had the privilege of working with many wonderful people in the beauty industry. From these people I have learned many valuable lessons regarding retail sales in the salon. With those lessons I was able to achieve top retail sales in the salon and later developed this retail sales program. This in turn, afforded me the opportunity to assist many other salons in achieving their goals in retail sales. While this does not make me an expert by any means, it did show me that even with so many sales programs available – people were still not getting it. It seemed that every program out there was either, too product specific, too extensive or too expensive. I can’t tell you how many stylists and salon owners told me that they had purchased a retail sales “program” that cost anywhere from $300.00 to $600.00 but they did not have the time to get all the way through the 4 to 6 CD’s or DVD’s and workbooks. In essence, they did not have the time nor money to invest in a program they did not have the time or money for. Make sense? So, I decided to use the information I gathered and a method I’m sure you have all heard of, the K.I.S.S. method. Yes, the Keep It Simple S________ (Sweetheart, Stupid, insert your own “S” word here.) method, to assist you in learning the power, procedure and profit potential of retail sales. I must take the time to explain that this is something I am very passionate about. The reason for that is I have seen firsthand the difference it can make in the attitudes and success of many salon owners and stylists. This is an easy and powerful way to enhance your business. So if you are reading this that means you have a desire to learn as well.

About the Author
Sheila J. Cline-Bass is the owner of Transformations Salon Consulting, which offers support and training to salons, spas, and cosmetology schools. She is a licensed cosmetologist and former distributor sales consultant, inventory control specialist, and financial officer. Cline-Bass lives in central Minnesota with her husband, Ted, and their son Logan.
