IUniverse’s Trisha Ventker gets book optioned by respected Hollywood producer, Paula Wagner

Trisha Ventker’s Hollywood dreams are very close to coming true. Prominent Hollywood producer Paula Wagner has optioned the film, television, and stage rights to her book, Internet Dates From Hell, at the inaugural Book-to-Screen PitchFest (BTS) in Los Angeles, California, which took place on July 22-23, 2011.

Ms. Wagner, who produced Vanilla Sky and the Mission Impossible movies among others, wasted no time in giving Ms. Ventker her nod of approval. “I’m always looking for projects with real audience appeal, and with Internet dating being such a part of our techno-centric world, I was immediately drawn to Trisha’s personal journey of life and love online.”

Internet Dates From Hell focuses on Ms. Ventker’s true-life pursuit for love online and follows her quest of weeding through the various colorful characters she meets online.

The Book-to-Screen (BTS) PitchFest was conceived by Author Solutions Inc. to give iUniverse authors the unique opportunity of meeting and pitching their titles to leading Hollywood executives. ASI Director of Film and New Media Marcus Chait was elated for Ms. Ventker, stating that the fact the event was able to connect an iUniverse indie author with a Hollywood producer of Ms. Wagner’s caliber was fantastic. He adds that he is very excited for the other 39,000-plus iUniverse titles as more BTS events are being planned for the future, with the next taking place in October.

BTS-Los Angeles received much praise and positive reviews from the authors and Hollywood executives in attendance. In fact, numerous other titles have also drawn preliminary interest and consideration from the producers and executives present at the event.

To provide its authors in the East Coast the same opportunities for their titles, ASI is organizing the second Book-to-Screen Pitchfest at the Marriott Marquis on New York's Time Square on October 28-29. Interested authors may call 1-800-AUTHORS to know more about joining the upcoming BTS event in New York and of making their Hollywood dreams come true.
