iUniverse author Susan Norris named southeastern U.S. Spokesperson for feature film "Caged No More"

Feature Film to raise awareness of human trafficking epidemic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.Jan. 14, 2016– iUniverse, an Author Solutions, LLC, supported self-publishing services provider, proudly announced that Susan Norris, author of Rescuing Hope, has been named the southeastern U.S. spokesperson for “Caged No More,” a new feature film created to raise awareness of human trafficking.

Inspired by real events, “Caged No More” is the story of Aggie Prejean, a grandmother on a desperate search to find her two granddaughters, Skye and Elle, who have been kidnapped by their sinister father. As the details behind the girls’ disappearance begin to unravel, it’s discovered he has taken them overseas to be sold into slavery to settle his drug debt.

Aggie enlists the help of the girls’ uncle, a well-respected local philanthropist, and his son, Wil, who is former U.S. Special Forces. A global hunt ensues, and the team will stop at nothing to see the girls safely returned home.

Starring Kevin Sorbo, Alan Powell, Cassidy Gifford and Emmy Award–winning actress Loretta Devine, the film debuts in theaters nationwide on January 22. Louisiana governor, Bobby Jindal, host of NBC’s TODAY Kathie Lee Gifford, Fox News Channel anchor Gretchen Carlson and recording artist Natalie Grant also make special appearances.

“I am honored to have been chosen to speak on behalf of this important film,” Norris said. “Human trafficking destroys millions of innocent lives worldwide each year, and it’s important for us to do what we can to raise awareness. We have to unite and work as one to eradicate this evil from our country and our world.”

Norris first became concerned after hearing stories of children, as young as nine years old, being trafficked in her quiet Atlanta suburb. After countless hours of research brought to light the scope of the problem, Norris was inspired to write Rescuing Hope (ISBN: 978-1-47596-623-7), which she self-published with iUniverse in December 2012.

A known international speaker, Norris has made it her mission to work toward the eradication of this epidemic that affects more than 27 million people worldwide — including an estimated 1.2 million children.

Dozens of theaters across the country have already committed to screening the film, but producers are seeking the public’s help in bringing this important work to more American cities and towns.
