About the Author

Patti Akams is a retired elementary school teacher who loves to watch children wonder with wide-open eyes at the mention of the name Santa. She currently lives in Lubbock, Texas.

The book "SOS OVER THE ATLANTIC" with its systematic and time-zone specific description of world-cultures and traditions is a very fascinating and rivetting book. It should be read by diverse age groups irrespective of ethnic or religious divides. Firm and funny at the same time, the book will appeal to both the young and the old as it carries to each group the universal message of empathy, philantropy and universal love which are the core messages of Santa Claus. Miss Patti Akams has built into the book the invaluable subtility and experience of the erudite school teacher which she is, as well as the caring affection of a mother who understands the usefulness of imparting a culture of giving to the younger generations of mankind. Santa does not ask for the shape of the face, the color of the skin or the accent of the speaker while he dispenses kindness. And, the latter message is eminently conveyed by the generosity of the Santa in SOS OVER THE ATLANTIC. The reader is unceasingly carried along in the book from the first page to the last and would invariably wish that the sweet story continued. This is an excellent read, a book that will certainly go places. The dexterity of Ms Akams, the author must be highly commended and "SOS OVER THE ATLANTIC" is a book that should adorn every book shelf. I very highly recommend it.
