About the Book

“My Iron Butterfly” is an eclectically styled collection of 78 poems surrounding family, interactions with and perceptions of the world, faith and sadness/grief. This anthology of reflection is intended for persons who need an outlet in expressing their feelings or for those persons trying to make sense of their thoughts and impressions on said topics. It is also for persons who consider themselves, their place in the world and the little things we would otherwise miss that leave an impact. Within these pages is a captured essence of some of my most personal experiences; experiences that I know so many share in themselves or have witnessed. It is my hope that this collection of poetic work will impact someone who can identify with the content and draw inspiration from it. - Jaevel Brown

About the Author

Jaevel is the youngest of three children born to Earl and Althia Morgan-Brown. She is an educator, youth service enthusiast and avid volunteer. Jaevel is a Christian and a member of the Linstead Baptist Church in her hometown in St. Catherine, Jamaica. She is passionate about God and her family and hopes to continue to share her voice through poetry.
