Sixty Years of Poetry

About the Book

I have written an abundance of poems—some good, some very good, and some very bad. I am eighty-three, and I doubt I’ll do too many more, good or bad. Sixty Years of Poetry will be joining my other works Light Verse & Limericks and Hodge Podge, my book of short stories, on my bookshelf.

About the Author

I guess I started my life of verse when I was nine, working with my father on his ice truck. I would make up jingles as we delivered ice. I continued compositions through Jamestown High and Guilford College. I married Glenda, reared a beautiful daughter, Juliet, and taught English at Union Pines High for nearly 30 years. Now, I am just PAPA to my terrific grandkids, Madi and Jonah.
