Diamond looks back at her life to share the hopes, dreams and struggles she and her husband Nathaniel had to move their family from the coal mines of West Virginia to the Pacific Northwest and beyond. They were African American pioneers.

Janice Keel is a retired high school educator and was president of a career school. She writes a blog on realwomenwholivefulllives.wordpress.com, and has a master's degree in education from Wayne State University. She and her husband have three adult children and live in the Midwest.
