The Lord Is… The Lord is my Shepherd, as well as my Guide, His word in my heart, he told me to hide. He is my constant Strength; he is my solid Rock; He declared the door would open, if only I knock. My Mediator, Provider, only begotten Son, With you in my life, the battle is already won. Alpha, Omega, the Beginning, the End, Closer than a brother, my best friend. Lily of the Valley, Bright Morning Star, More than words can express, that’s what you are! Well of Water, one drink – my thirst went away; If I abide in you, you said you’d stay. I Am that I Am, all things you are to me, You became my Deliverer the day you set me free. Counselor, Advocate, Wheel in the Middle of a Wheel, You mean so much, to me you are so real! Sweeter than honey, scripture says so, Eternal life - my destiny; belief in you, is how I know. Mighty God, Keeper, Shepherd, and Prince of Peace, With you I am free, and my storms suddenly cease. Everlasting Father, Calmer of the Sea, In you I am complete; and all I hope to be! So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Hebrews 13:6

About the Book
In this book of well written poetry, Ms. Simpson captures the intensity of her devotion to God, family, and her love of learning. Not only does each poem express deep emotional feeling, it offers distinctive style through her rhymes and careful selection of vocabulary. It should be noted that her deep faith guides her every word regarding this manuscript, Just for My Journey: Expressions on My Walk. In addition, it can easily be regarded as a labor of love for self-purification. The author obviously displays a love for poetry and literature. Last but not least, Ms. Simpson seeks to utilize poetry to demonstrate her sincerest love for God, people, and her Christian journey.
About the Author
Diana B. Simpson is currently a 4th grade teacher employed by Prince George’s County in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Claflin University and post-graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina-Aiken and South Carolina State University. She has had a penchant for writing poetry since her youth. She currently resides in Maryland. This is her first book of poetry.
