The Dragon's Revolution

“Everything okay back there?” came Bryce’s voice, and when I looked back, it seemed that he was still having the standoff with the soldier. “Yeah. Everything’s all good,” I said, jumping back down into the divot to Charlie and Bryce. The first thing I noticed, was that Charlie was staring the man down with the pistol pointed straight at the man’s head. Looking around for Marie, I noticed that she wasn’t here and that was a problem... I grabbed the gun while it was in Charlie’s hand and eased it away from him. He looked at me with steely eyes and only nodded before sprinting off to find Marie. “What’s his problem?” asked the soldier. “You remember San Antonio, Day of Shattered Dreams?” I asked, and as soon as he heard it, a bit of realization dawned on the soldier's face. Bryce looked at me for answers, and I leaned over to whisper what he and some of his soldiers had done to Marie and Charlie on that day. When Bryce heard the story, he was instantly scale bound with not red but blue flames licking at his arms. He walked up to the soldier, grabbed him by the neck, and raised him high above. Now to most of our group watching, they didn’t know what the soldier had done to Charlie and Marie, but they didn’t care. For Bryce to be this mad at anyone meant that they did something unforgivable. That was all they needed to damn the man. Now with the man above him, Bryce’s grip became tighter and tighter, and the desperation of the soldier became even more apparent as his face turned purple. He pulled out a triple-bladed knife and began stabbing at Bryce. However, Bryce just grabbed the blade and yanked it out of his grip. With the man disarmed, he gave up, going limp in Bryce’s grip with only his eyes pleading for mercy. He wasn’t about to get it though. “This will be brutal,” Bryce said facing us, as a final warning if any of us didn’t want to see what was going to happen. None of us moved.
