INDEPENDENT INDIA 1960 A true story of an immigrant family and their struggles to leave their original country and the struggles they face through in settling in United States of America. The story as being told by author to his first grand son who happened to be a special need child who was born in United States. His grandson can hear as his hearing is great and his eye sight is good and he can see people and recognize them and smile at them and only his mom, his Nany and the nurses who take care him know what he is asking and if he needs some thing or he is unhappy with the situation and some thing is bothering him. He cannot speak and his motor skills are very poor and impaired after he suffered a sudden death syndrome when he was only three month old infant. He was born normal and performed normally during his first three months of his life. He is a great listener and gives his face expressions of his happiness when he listens to a story book. I got used to tell him stories and I liked to amuse him and always enjoyed his face expressions. I think he simply digest everything I tell him. Story tells the reasons of immigrants leaving their country and coming to America and talks about the generosity of Americans and how helpful they are in making immigrants settle and welcomed. Life is a strive and expects simply to work hard to achieve the results we want but how things turn out is always depends upon your own efforts and your own previous life ‘Karma’ and more accurately the consequences of our own actions and the resulting fruit of our efforts is always in God’s hand. Our own attractions or rejections are all due to our own experiences and our memories stored in our own sub consciousness. We only need to strive and work hard towards our goals without worrying about the result. What kept us going is our love of our family and the people we meat in the process. Everything in life always turn out great if our intentions stay honest and we dedicate ourselves for humans at large in every situation. Read on a simple life story of my grandson and me based upon actual day to day dairy whenever I happened to be alone while I took job assignments away from my home which I wrote and maintained to tell.

About the Book
Passage to America is very informative. It is about how and why legal immigrants come to this land, what they actually come for, what struggles they go through, how they blend in, and how they become productive citizens of United States and become part of the American melting pot. The book is nothing but a true story of a family and their struggles with their previous country’s traditionally and historically set system. The book does not intend to give any bad feelings about our previous friends, relatives, or government officials, but the actual feelings displayed in the day-to-day dairy. It is dedicated to children and grandchildren.
About the Author
He is an experienced distribution and power engineer and a Professional Engineer with outstanding experience gained through a series of Progressively responsible assignments in government services, private utilities, electric distribution, design, consulting Project management, contract engineering of power production, heavy industry in US and abroad. He believed in Humanity At large without any distinction / discrimination emerging from preferences of race, religion or origin and he always believed In “ All humans are born equal under God”. He is a past Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and Past President of OREE, Inc. His accomplishments of public and community involvement such as “Six years as a small town Councilman and where he served on several local BOARDS” He has a special need grandson who inspired him to write the story.
