Divorcing The Game

Game Rule #12 Anything that does perform according to its purpose will eventually die. We have all heard stories of athletes who turned their lives into a train wreck, both personally and financially, by not adhering to the fact that an athlete's playing days have a limited shelf life. Granted, the length of time varies from one athlete to another, but the actual date your playing career ends is not important. The fact is that your playing career will come to an end one day and you must be well prepared. The sad part is that that day always seems to be sooner than we had originally thought. There is no reason a professional athlete's career end has to become another tragic story. Not having a plan or at least a vision of what you would like to do after your professional athletic career ends can leave you in a desperate situation. The universe is in a constant state of progression. Therefore, everything that is living must evolve and grow with it or it will be left behind. Death is inevitable. I am not referring to a physical death, but a psychological death occurs when we fail to evolve. If you remain stagnant and fail to move forward in your life, you will stop progressing, advancing and innovating. Anything that does perform according to its purpose will eventually die, especially your mind.
