About the Book

Twelve-year-old Nancy has been teased all through grade school because of a foot deformity. In her book, Because You Are Special, author Joyce P. Yatsook tells how Nancy handles the situation. Nancy discovers she is not the only person in her school who is being taunted. She also learns that people make fun of other people for a variety of reasons. Most important, after her brother, Danny, has an experience in the woods, Nancy comes to understand why some people tease others.

About the Author

Joyce P. Yatsook earned an associate’s degree in accounting. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for thirty years. She also became a licensed massage therapist and studied and then taught Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan until 2013. She has three adult sons and a daughter and enjoys vegetable gardening.
