There is nothing perfect about marriage. It’s full of flaws and issues. We carry into it shards and pieces of our background and personality. But when it is put it all together in a covenant with God, a beautiful picture is depicted. It’s easy to see what may be wrong. Up close, you’ll see bits of imperfection. But if you stand back you’ll see an image only made complete in Christ. Anne and I do not have a perfect marriage. Personally, I think it’s a great marriage. Nevertheless, it’s a marriage that’s full of flaws and issues. Why? Because we are two broken individuals that came together and made a covenant before God and man. This book will tell of moments that make up the whole of who we are. Each experience we have had brings it’s own story. But put it all together, the shards of experiences and memories, and a beautiful picture is depicted. The stand too close to us you’ll see bits of imperfection. If you stand back, we hope you’ll see an image only made complete in Christ. We are a mosaic STILL being put together. And so is your marriage. Contrary to the movie Jerry Maguire, we didn’t “complete each other.” We are two people that have found our completion, not in our marriage, but in our faith Jesus Christ. He’s been the source of peace, strength, comfort, joy, and hope. And it’s because of Him, we’ve enjoyed 18 years of marriage and many more to come. So this is where we start. This is where everything begins. 2 Broken people; 1 complete couple. A Mosaic.

About the Author
David Barringer, Lead Pastor of Kalamazoo First Assembly of God. He received his bachelor’s degree from Central Bible College. He is a member of CMBA (Christian Marriage Bloggers Assoc.) and actively blogs at pdave.me out of his 20 years of ministry experience and 19 years of marriage. He and his wife, Anne, have two children and live in Kalamazoo, MI.
