Invasion: Earth

Yu held his nose, looked up at the sky, and tapped his left foot four times. The ground opened up and the four boys, soon to be men, dropped down the hole as a bright, red streak shot between them. Yu landed on his feet but the others fell to their knees on soft soil. As they climbed to their feet, they realized they were covered in red, warm liquid. Yu wiped the red from his eyes and surveyed the space around them. The dirt tunnel they were in appeared to be intact and Yu was relieved until he realized there were only two others with him. Chuck realized they were covered in blood. He screamed. He accidentally swallowed some and the smell and metallic taste of it terrified him. He screamed and screamed until the sound of his own screams broke through his mental state and he comprehended that he was alive and unharmed. His cognitive skills returned slowly. He wiped the blood from his face with his sleeves and spit several times trying to rid the taste from his mouth. “What was that? What happened?!” Farley yelled. “Take a minute to calm down and then we must move. We are safe. The ground above has closed, and we are inside. They cannot get in, although they have been sniffing around here for a while now.” Chuck repeatedly spit trying to rid himself of the taste of blood. Then he said, “Yu? What do you know? Who are you, really?” “Chuck, Farley, I am part of a group of people working against the aliens and the aliens are here now.” “No, no, no, no, no, no. I can’t deal with this.” Whack! Yu smacked Chuck hard across the face. “Get yourself together. We have to be strong and there is a long road ahead.” “Nathan! Nathan?” Farley called. “Where’s Nathan?” Farley wiped the red wetness from his eyes while he searched for a way to reach the ceiling they had just fallen through.
