Eleven-year-old Kenny Kelly believes nothing exciting ever happens in Forest Park, a town controlled by the Therelan sect and its high guru. But one day everything changes when Kenny sees seven Therelan men whisking his parents away in a van. There is no question that Kenny’s life has just changed from ordinary to extraordinary in a matter of moments.

After expert explorer Kenny summons his four best friends to their old fort in the weed patch, they set out on an adventure to save his parents. As their journey takes them far away to the Woods of New Beginnings, the group meets magical characters who provide guidance and teach them that their strengths are more powerful when they work together as a team. But little do they know that their biggest challenge awaits them as they attempt a daring rescue in the Grand Hall. As the clock ticks away, Kenny and his pals must do everything in their power to stop the guru, before it is too late.

In this adventurous tale, five young explorers embark on a quest to rescue two prisoners and save their town from the clutches of a guru determined to carry out an evil secret mission.

Kim William Kerlin earned a BBA from the University of Miami and an MS from Florida International University. He grew up outside Gary, Indiana, where he escaped the pressures of conformity by creating imaginary worlds in the magical woods. Bill spent twenty years working in not-for-profit professional theater. He now resides in San Diego, California.
