Jim Oliver developed a bond with a motorcycle like a jockey and his steed. "Lucille" a BMW dual purpose motorcycle was responsible for delivering Jim back to the safe environment of Kansas after having been brutalized by the pounding on the roads (?) of Siberia in Russia. A particularly difficult section of the Trans-Siberian Highway was nick-named The XXX Road. In the book, Jim describes his attraction to motorcycling and a desire for adventure - both of which, developed at an early age. In addition, a few of Jim's life experiences, not associated with motorcycling, are included in the book that may have contributed to the build-up of tackling a daring adventure. The duo of Jim, and his riding partner Dennis O'Neil, faced many challenges going around the world on heavy powerful motorcycles. Many of those challenges were quickly elevated to the status of danger. The world tour entailed many countries, currencies, languages and dialects, terrain changes, cultures, problems, time zones, and breakdowns including physical, mental, and mechanical. Jim was seeking a lifetime experience and he was not disappointed. The reader will be feel like he or she is taking the trip with the two thrill seeking motorcycle affectionados. Enjoy the book.

About the Book
Jim Oliver had a lifelong dream of going around the world. He took up motorcycling in his teen years and ultimately motorcycled through 49 states, Canada, and Mexico. At age 60 he put the dream with the passion-going around the world by motorcycle. Jim describes how he planned every detail of the 60-day trip, prepared his mind and body, and executed the trip of a lifetime while overcoming numerous hurdles and disappointments. He describes some extremely dangerous motorcycle riding on ice and snow, over long stretches of jagged rock, and through muddy roads and rivers.
Jim, and his riding partner, Dennis O'Neil spent 26 days crossing Russia, sleeping in the wild, and surviving on Borscht soup and coffee. The two adventurers were told by Russian locals that they were the first two motorcyclists to cross the infamous, 1,300 mile long, Amur section of Siberia without using the train.About the Author
Jim Oliver has traveled extensively by motorcycle to 49 states, Canada, Mexico, and literally Round The World (RTW) in 2004. He faithfully attends the annual Jack Pine Gypsies Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, numerous other motorcycle events, and gives presentations to many groups each year on his RTW Motorcycle Tour. Next to family and his work, motorcycling has been Jim's passion since age 13; he currently owns a 2000 BMW R1150GS, a 2008 Kawasaki KLR 650, and a 2007 Harley Davidson Road King Police bike. Jim is a Financial Planner by trade in Colby, KS and he is an avid student and participant of investing in securities. Jim, and his wife Molly, have four children and six grandchildren. Jim is an Instrument Rated Private Pilot and an honorably discharged US Marine.
