About the Book

Devina is a 25-year old virgin consumed by the vision of her veiled prince. One day while she is leaving work, Devina accidentally bumps into a man who catches her in his strong arms, preventing her from falling. Devina is stunned by the familiarity of his strong, yet lilting Caribbean voice asking if she is okay. She is unable to respond because she is captivated by the love, passion, and desire she sees in his light brown eyes - - her body flushed with heated arousal as her skin remembers his sensual touch; her senses heightened as she inhales the euphoric scent of his cologne. As she gazes deeply into his familiar eyes, inhales his fresh breath and swallows bits of what seems to be his very essence, Devina wonders if her years of fantasizing have finally collided with her reality.

About the Author

Dr. Marrissa R. Dick has been writing African American Contemporary Christian romance novels since 1996. She is the author of Angel Fire, Cousins, Déjà vu Desires, Letters, and Them’s Eve’s Daughters. Although a Bronx, New York, native, Marrissa received much of her inspiration for writing from the more than 35 years she has spent living in Greensboro, North Carolina. Dr. Dick began writing romance novels while attending Shaw University, where she majored in Business Management and graduated with the distinction of Magna Cum Laude. Enthralled by the idea of lifelong learning, she pursued the master’s degree in Adult Education with a Specialization in Training and Development from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She earned the doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations with a Specialization in Cultural Studies and a minor in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Dick enjoys spending time with her family, attending church, teaching, and writing Christian romance. Her favorite biblical quote is Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
