About the Book

Many women lose themselves in life’s storms. They lose hope, confidence, and patience. They no longer have the will to pursue their goals and dreams. Instead, they give up and wallow in sadness and self-pity, living in a perpetual storm. Dana’s storm begins when she is sexually abused as a young girl by a family member. She becomes a teen mother, dropout, and drug addict. She lives within the swirls of her storm until realizes she must take action if she is to find the sun. Dana must learn to take off the tough mask that hides her true self and learn to live again. The Product of a Broken Heart is a book for women of all ages and ethnicities. In every storm, there is a lesson to be learned and strength to be built. Through all the laughter and tears, you exist today as the outcome of what you’ve been through. Though you are not your past, you are a product of what you lived, all part of God’s plan, who perfects in the storm.

About the Author

Crystal Ismael was born in rural Texas, raised by a single mother from a background of segregation and self-hatred. Crystal questioned herself daily, wondering who she was and where she belonged. Four kids and a husband later, she now stands tall and proud in her knowledge of self. She has learned to be comfortable in her skin, regardless of ethnicity or cultural background, and wants to share those lessons with you.
