The Bloom Alone with himself, the poet infused With the love of the visible form of the muse, Rejoices in songs sung for her ears Eagerly listening and shedding her tears Of bliss to the music he plays with words Strung on the lyre in the heart of a bird She holds in her hand, delighted and pleased, Smiling and grateful, graceful, at ease, Admiring her lover, the poet who pens The songs of her heart, making amends For time spent apart, healing the rift With love and the heart offered as gift To the one he will always hold ever close In the warmth of his soul where she blooms as the rose.

About the Author
Ajit Sripad Rao Nalkur is a full time poet, lifelong traveler, lover of the wilderness, and father of five. He currently lives on a beach in South India with his wife, Jaya, with whom he shares the love of gardening. He has previously published five poetry books, the last of which was Flowers from the Heart, Songs of the Soul.
