This is one example of extra-Biblical material included in the book that could be legend material. It is not considered to be Greek mythology. Christian apologetics called Praeparatio evangelica, its Latin title, written by Eusebius, in the early part of the fourth century AD was written to prove the excellence of Christianity over pagan religions. Eusebius added information from historians and philosophers not recorded elsewhere. The story of one such pagan god was Hercules in Roman mythology also known in ancient Greek as Heracles. This information is not included in this manuscript but for discussion of extra-Biblical material such as the Greek tradition of the Samaritan woman that Jesus met at Jacob’s well is viewed as historical information by scholars. You will not find the traditional portion of this information in the King James Bible. According to Greek tradition, Photiona was the Samaritan woman with whom Jesus spoke at the well as was recounted in the Gospel of St. John, chapter four. Deeply moved by the experience, she took to preaching the Gospel, received imprisonment, and was finally martyred at Carthage. Another tradition states that Photina was put to death in Rome after converting the daughter of Emperor Nero and one hundred of her servants. She supposedly died in Rome with her sons Joseph and Victor, along with several other Christians, including Sebastian, Photius, Parasceve, Photis, Cyriaca, and Victor. They were perhaps included in the Roman Martyrology by Cardinal Cesare Baronius owing to the widely held view that the head of Photina was preserved in the church of St. Paul’s Outside the Wall

About the Book
When Jesus ascended to heaven to be on the right side of the Father, He left believers a comforter or an advocate called the Paraclete—or the Holy Spirit—to act in defense against the wiles of Satan. In Paraclete the Advocate, author Lonnie D. Mills looks to the Word of God to show that salvation is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ’s atonement, which will eventually lead to a heavenly eternal life. As Jesus was ascending to heaven, He made a difficult command to his disciples that he wanted them to be witnesses for him throughout the world, and he said they would be able to do this when the power of the Holy Spirit had come upon them. Paraclete the Advocate explains this power of the Holy Spirit and why it is important for Christians to accept the truth of the Trinity. This is a sinful world, and by faith, repentance, prayer, and guidance by the Paraclete, it is not too late to receive salvation by the free gift God provided by his Son’s atoning work on the cross. Everyone can receive the free gift of justification by God’s act, whereby righteousness is restored and guilt and the penalty of sin are wiped clean. Christian believers who find scripture difficult to comprehend should pray to seek understanding and guidance from the Paraclete.
About the Author
Lonnie D. Mills is from Houston, Texas, and he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and respiratory therapy from Texas Southern University. After traveling a circuitous wilderness journey, he worked in supervisory positions in the tool and die-making industries for 19 years and 20 years in the chemical industry that specialized in producing polysilicon for computer wafers and solar panels. Today he is retired and has been led by the Spirit to share God’s Biblical Truths. Lonnie and his wife, Lois, are members of Sagemont Baptist Church in Houston Texas pastored by Dr. John D.
