In her debut collection of poems, she shares poignant verse that explores emotions, human frailty and strength, loss, love, and regrets. Obiechina, who has been an educator in both America and Nigeria, lyrically reflects on her life experiences as she attempted to understand complex events around her and find a better path. Her poems express her frustration after visiting a Nigerian factory, the pain of unrequited love, the heartbreak of war, the beauty of a winter’s day, and the differences between generations. Through it all, Obiechina gently encourages all of us to embrace tolerance, differences, and empathy toward others as we continue on own unique journeys. About the Author

Maria Obiechina is an educator who has taught all ages (from preschool to university level) in America and Nigeria. She holds several degrees that include a BS in Sociology and Anthropology, an MA and MEd in Education, and a PhD in Educational Administration and Planning. Maria is currently an education consultant.
