The Legend of Heart Failure

How many times do we hear the expression that the way to men’s heart is through his stomach? This means, to prepare a delicious salty, fatty, sugary but appealing meal to win their heart. My father was one of the victims who fell into this category when it comes to chosen a woman. He always fell for those women who would go out of their ways to prepare one of a kind killer meal to satisfy his appetite. He was a womanizer and married in traditional ceremony many times to multiple women in which the society recognized as a polygamous. My father, a Nigerian, was considered a wealthy man during his time. His practice of living unhealthy life style was never challenge because he was educated and very smart. If I know what I knew now, my father would probably be alive today because I would stand by him to challenge the demon that was making him doing many unhealthy things that led to his death, and helped him change his ways for better.

To those of many millions out there who still have a chance to turn their life around and make a healthy choice for a better living, please do not hesitate to jump at the opportunity. And to their families, please do not turn away and claim that they are adult and have the right to live their lives the way they want. It is a known fact that, many times, people do things out of urge without thinking it through, they have no idea what they are getting themselves into because their unrealistic desire is in control, with your strength and knowledge they will overcome and make a rational decision. It might means sacrificing a little of your time; but the reward is outstanding at the end when you see them looking good and making healthier life choices.

This book is not to replace a doctor’s visit or a second opinion to your therapeutic treatment in heart failure management with your doctor. It is a literature to let you read about the authors own personal story and learn from her mistake. Also to know that “what you don’t know may hurt you and what you know may kill you prematurely”; if you fail to comply with guidelines and treatment regimen once you known the diagnosis of your demon. For example diagnosed of heart failure, one need to change or modify life style and work with healthcare professional if one wants to live a quality life. Heart failure is a public health diseases which can be manage effectively at home if one follows treatment regimen and make healthy choices. Healthy choices are easy to make if one understand the disease process and how it affect one’s body. Be smart and educate yourself about your illness! Say yes to a healthy hearty life style, and no to careless living; and pass down the touch of a healthy living to the next generation instead of the legacy of heart failure. Heart failure is a national disease and everyone is at risk of getting it which makes everyone a survivor if they are alive and living. Also been a heart failure survivor does not means a safe zone but a continue struggle to eliminate or reduce the risk of getting it. We are a survival because we have a will to live, and together we will win the war against heart disease or heart failure.
