The sound of the ocean, The feel of the breeze, A quiet emotion Of stillness and ease, Solitary voices And birdsound, The shock of pretty colours On paradisial ground, Sunshine and trees And white-foamed surprise, Peace in the soul And joy for the eyes
Glimpse
We rarely listen to the Voice Although we have no other choice, We need to go much deeper yet Than the sorrows we beget From our failing to pay heed To our inmost, truest needs, For within the core of things Lies the seed from which life brings Eternal happiness, endless days Of bliss and peace and restful ways Of which the blessed never tire, Such the path that leads to higher Realms descending to the earth, Man the base on which they berth Their foundation stones, tomorrow Is the stuff from which they borrow Power, strength - Love immortal Is the source through which these portals Open wide, to us lay bare Wondrous vistas bright and rare, Fields of flowers, children, sun, Our future when the world is one!

About the Book
Coming Home: Poetry of the Spirit serves as the introduction to a trilogy of poetry on love and the journey. It is the realisation of poet Ajit Sripad Rao Nalkur’s deepest dream to make his poetry available to the world at large. This volume offers an account of author Nalkur’s voyage back to India, his birthplace, after twenty-five years of living in the West. His time abroad included living, working, and travelling through Australia, Europe, and the United States.
Coming Home, completed on his return to India in 2003, was initiated during his years in the United States. The poetry in this volume covers such topics as the sweetness of love and miracle of life eternal, along with themes of relationships and the need to be true to oneself. This inspiring collection touches on the themes of everyday life and love.
The Song of the Poet
A poet I live, A poet I’ll die, If life’s an illusion Death is a lie!
A life of the spirit And only of the spirit Will I lead, What else is there to live for If spirit be the seed?
About the Author
Ajit Sripad Rao Nalkur is currently living on a beach in south India with his wife, Jaya, and their two children. He gardens and writes poetry full-time. He has previously published a trilogy on love in a limited hardcover edition, but now wishes to make this and future work available to all.
