What I believe she believed is that what you put out in the world will always come back to you. God gave her so much life and she gave so much of her life to the glory of God. Though you may not have seen or heard because she did not boast about what she did she just did it. The Boys club, YWCA, NAACP, African American College Fund and the American Cancer Association were just of few of the charities that she gave to regularly. She also made regular contributions to special shelters and food pantries not just during holiday times but all the time. She neither bragged nor boasted about what she did she did it from the heart. I knew about it because I help to keep up with the paperwork and had to pick up a lot of mail during her illness and after her passing. Tish had great Karma and a great heart.
ATM Global Resources, Inc. was a very big part of the Tish Mercer legacy but so was Don’t Dink Me. While she was very productive in operating these two businesses with a little input from her sister (me) she had the entire lay of the land. Even with two corporations in tow she managed to take time to assist every family member in trying to build a business. Her last suggestion to me was “go to law school” which I really wish I had done. However, each member of her family possessed a special talent and she drew on that talent to help and encourage each of them to develop their own independence. Described as a Architect of Change she molded the dreams and aspirations of so many family members and so many dreams. Everyone did not act upon her suggestions but by emphasis or elimination they did something. Call it a hobby, call it a gift. If it did not become a business venture people were certainly aware of your capability when she air brushed the artist.

About the Book
Alicia A. Mercer, or Tish, as she was known, was a labor negotiator with Greyhound Bus Company during one of the largest strikes in their history. She worked diligently with the Harold Washington Campaign and later became a big part of his transition team. When Tish Mercer entered a room, corporate America listened. A Warm Blanket, Celebration of Life is the loving memoir of her life written by her sister, Pamela Mercer. This inspiring memoir also includes loving remembrances for many of her friends.
Tish worked as the human resources director of the Chicago Housing Authority and in global operations at ATM Global Resources. She had an impact on so many people, helping to move them into not just jobs, but careers. Pamela shares some of the most important journeys of Tish’s life, from her independent youth to her productive and powerful reign in corporate America as a leader in human resources. Tish always lead by example and always treated people the way she wanted to be treated—she was there to help others get back up on their feet if they were down.
A Warm Blanket is about who Tish Mercer was, but it is also a celebration of how she impacted the hearts and memories of anyone she met or worked with over the years.
About the Author
Pamela P. Mercer majored in journalism and has a degree in criminal justice administration. A wonderful sister and dear friend encouraged her to follow her dreams and continue to write. A. Tish Mercer was her older sister; her passing was a devastating blow that inspired Pamela to write this biography. Pamela currently lives in Illinois.
