About the Book

MIND SHAPER connects us to one another in this rapid, global cultural integration. Your experiences will go from simple emoting to showing an eminent capacity to reason. Education, in its broadest sense, is found more on the outside of a classroom than within its four walls. The exploration, observation and connection to the things that attract our attention the most, are the things that free us from the bondage of not growing to our full potential.

The hardship we 'suffer' in a classroom, however, often gives us the fortitude to create a healthy balance in making choices in the future for ourselves and the minds that we will shape.

Enjoy the spirit in which MIND SHAPER is written; one that brings home reality in smiles of what we know either can and sometimes will happen or serious reflection. Further, I dare readers to attempt to read BRAWTA.

About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, a middle child of six, always asking “Why?” and having a passion for poetry since elementary school days. Montego Bay High School for girls has made her more aware of many other famous writers including Wordsworth, Coleridge and Chaucer to name a few. Then of course on radio and television, Jamaica’s First Lady of Comedy, Miss Lou, who so beautifully spoke and wrote the native tongue, patois, led Jennifer to write many unrecorded plays and poems of her own. Despite harsh criticism from her mother, that she would never pass her GCE English exams because of how ‘badly’ she wrote and recited those patois poems, Jennifer’s love for this new art form continued. She passed her English exams in flying colors and has continued with her love for the English Language as was taught by the British. To date, her mother will be the first to hear and share the uncommon words piled high in Jennifer’s vocabulary, whenever she hears someone else using them. Additionally, Jennifer has, on several occasions, served as a Motivational Speaker, Legislative Representative, Mentor, Guest Lecturer, High School Graduation Guest Speaker, International College Representative, High School Delegate, President of her High School Alumnae Association (New York) and in that capacity, has been interviewed on several radio stations both in New York and Jamaica. This poet has also Interviewed Jamaica’s Prime Minister, Hon. Bruce Golding and the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Ed Bartlett, on behalf of local reggae news stations. (presently run on Youtube) For most of her professional years, the author traded securities and sold traditional retail bank products. As a licensed Financial Specialist, she belonged to several professional and Non-Profit organizations, including, but not limited to, the National Association of Female Executives, International Consortium of Caribbean Professionals, National Association of Poets and the All Islands Association. The Author can always be relied upon for a smile when she helps you to take a real look at life through her eyes. “Things could be better…or worse.” She profoundly believes, however, that we are here to help each other through this madness, thus her role in life as MIND SHAPER, creating and encouraging thoughts that emanate not just from the mind, but also from the soul.
