Its protagonist, a wealthy, sophisticated banker, with a seemingly ideal marriage, falls for a woman he despises, who hates what he loves, whose entire life is dedicated to devaluing what he values most. It is a commentary not only on the unexpected, almost lunatic byways of love, but on the fragility of happiness.

About the Author

James Lawson has written 11 novels, numerous screenplays, plays, TV commercials, a award-winning TV documentary and the original trailer for the movie, ?Star Wars?, among others. He lives in New York City with his wife, Katharine, a biopsychologist. They have two children, Victoria and Nicholas, both graduate students.
