Why do we sabotage ourselves? Why is our brain doing this to us? If your body is a robot executing what the computer has been programmed for, there might be a software-programming problem in our brain. Who did the programming? You did! Every time you repeated to yourself that you were overweight.
Our brain is making us right. If somewhere in your mind you have a belief that you’re fat, your brain hears it over and over and it will make you right. If for the past 15 years we have been looking at ourselves in the mirror every day telling ourselves: "I have a big gut" or "I am fat" or "I have big thighs", you know all these discriminating thoughts we say and tell ourselves? Well the brain hears it loud and clear, and it does everything it can to make you right!!! Even if we focus on not being fat or losing weight, our brain still hears fat and extra weight.
First of all, with a mind set of being fat, and your brain wanting to make you right, it will never really ask you to go for a workout or to reach for an apple or for raw veggies; it is doing everything it can to make you right and keep you fat, because that is what you are conditioned to be. You are thinking about yourself as a person with a big butt or a big belly and that is the way it is.
Let's say that you kick butt for a while. You actually go for a few workouts, you start eating well and you are actually starting to lose weight. Then your brain is panicking because it is saying: "oh no!... What is going on?... She is losing weight and she is supposed to be fat. What can I do...to make her right about being fat? Oh... here is a chocolate bar, I'm gonna make her eat that..." So we feel like we are sabotaging ourselves but the truth is that we are only making ourselves right about our thoughts.
You’ll walk into the grocery store and your brain will see a bag of chips and make you right by making you buy it because you’ve said over and over that you are fat. Your brain will always make you right. 90% of our brain isn’t used. It’s very powerful and we don’t want to underestimate its strength. We have to be really careful with the thoughts and words we put into our brain. We have to be careful what we want to be right about. Because no matter what, your brain will execute the thoughts you are putting in.
You will discover the complexity and power of the brain and how to elicit what you want (desire). You will learn how to make room for what you want and some techniques to clear any negative impact from your past (new you). And finally, you will learn how to program your brain with what you want (actualize).
The D.N.A. system stands for: DESIRE - NEW YOU - ACTUALIZE.
The structure of the system is quite simple. Pretend that you feel that you need to do some changes in your home. You are not quite happy with some of the rooms in your house. You have some company coming in a few months and you would like to do a few upgrades.
The first thing to do is to assess what you want to put your budget on first. What room will make the most impact and will give you the most satisfaction? That's the DESIRE part of the D.N.A. System: finding out what you want to work on and what is your vision of the new room.
Now let's say you have decided to make changes to your kitchen. Before installing the new cupboards, you first need to get rid of the existing ones. There is a demolition or a cleaning task to be done before putting the new cupboards in place. That is the NEW YOU part of the D.N.A. system. We clean up and get rid of old unwanted emotions, behaviours and beliefs and make room for what you want to implement in your life.
Once clear and empty, all you need is to fill up your kitchen with brand new cupboards and furniture, new paint, new floors, and whatever you have decided in your plan. The implementation of the desires to imprint them into your new you is the ACTUALIZE part of the D.N.A. System.
