“Ivy Rose, start packing! We’re going on vacation,” said Chucky
“We’re not leaving for another day, Chuck.
Don’t get so excited!” she answered.
“Quit calling me Chucky. I am Doctor Clyde Elmer Charles, a professor in human relations, so please refer to me respectfully.”
“Don’t push it buster!” said Ivy. “I’ve called you Chucky forever and I’m not going to change it now. You’re just lucky that’s all I call you. Plus, don’t forget that I too am a Doctor of Psychology.”
“Yes and you are also my precious, wonderful, caring and beautiful wife,” said Chucky.
“Don’t think that the sweet talk is going to get you out of packing, Chucky. I guess we better get started. We have a lot to do. The faster we get done, the sooner we can start relaxing on the beach.”
“I wouldn’t think of anything else, dear. My thoughts are of warm beaches, moon lit walks and being with people that we’ve known for years. We’ve planned this trip so well, what could possibly go wrong!?”

About the Author
Dr. Stanley Kuren’s work has been in the sciences, but his heart has been in the arts and literature. The product of four universities, he has studied the sciences, art, theater, and literature. In A Vacation Gathering, he explores his polymathic nature through his love for writing.
