Picture for the Frame

Whenever I encountered people who did not understand how I could be so joyful and peaceful and would try to test my faith, I never let them have my power. My strength made them reassess their lives and I know I made a difference just by my determined will. I am thankful for my life experiences, the good and bad. I have been able to look back over the years and even the bad experiences (or so they appeared to be at the time) have been beneficial.

No one has any control over their beginnings. Some people are born into wealth and some to poverty. Some are beautiful and others are just pure ugly. Some are fat and some are slim. We have Blacks, Whites, Asians, Mexicans and many other races. We have no choice in our origin. Our picture frame is there waiting at birth, as early as before the first spanking. Our will is there in place. The key, we have some choices in life. We can take the good and turn it into evil, or we can take the evil and turn it into good. Those choices are entirely up to each individual. Our focus should be on what we can change and not on the plight we are given or the past mistakes we have made. If your frame in not so shiny and pretty, you can make peaceful and colorful pictures that will cause others to focus so much on the picture that the frame is not visible to the eye.

I always listened to the voice inside of me for guidance. I listened to advice from others, but I was forever considering the source. You see, you need to listen in order to be able to decide if what’s being said is worthy of your consideration or not. We can learn from the past experiences of others. But you also have to be careful. Just as a good Chef, you must leave out the bad ingredients and cook with the ingredients that you like and want to taste. Not everyone’s taste buds will fit yours. I have learned that not all people have your best interest at heart. Some are afraid to venture out and make change and they are sitting back waiting for you to fall on your face. They want to be able to say, “You failed.” Then there are others who really do rejoice at your efforts and successes. Positive people will always listen to you and offer sound advice to help you move forward. Positive people believe in miracles and achieving the seemingly impossible.
