This book came together from a poem I read while reading Prof. Ginette A, Eldredge email. It was on the bottom of her email page, The poem was written by a 16th century play-writer called Calderon De la Barca . It was a poem of how life is a dream And the famous last words of Segismundo Soliloguay. Segismundo was a bad king Of the 15th century Poland. He was drugged and put to sleep; when he awakened he felt that his bad life as a king was nothing but a dream and the solders agreed with him. He changed his life around saying that the person in the dream was not the person he wanted to be. When I read that I felt as my life was the same. My past was nothing but a bad dream. I woke up and changed myself.

About the Book
Hello my name is Tyrone and I live in Virginia Beach.
I just finished writing my first book, Soap That Doesn’t Clean.
It talks about my life experience, growing up in New York from the 60s to the 80s. Being Puerto Rican, I thoroughly discuss the political relations between Puerto Rico and the United States, the racism I dealt with in NY, and the drug and alcohol problem that almost brought me to my death. It will be something to experience as I take you from my unruly dealings in the ghettos of the Bronx,to the streets of Europe and Sobriety,To my bitter-sweet adventures of entreupneurship, and the beginnings of my academic career. Watch my life unfold before your very eyes and experience the story of a man that has allowed to put the phrase “if it doesn’t kill you it makes you SMARTER” to justice. over 43 years of my life from 67-2012.
About the Author
Tyrone Garcia was born February 9, 1961 in the borough of the Bronx, in New York. Bore from Puerto Rican parents, Tyrone resided in Bronx River Housing Projects where he lived a life surrounded by gangs, drugs, alcohol, crime, abuse, and racism. Growing up in poverty stricken neighborhood, Tyrone tried to find refuge within what was available to him and every other minority growing up in the projects: drugs and alcohol. Falling into the trappings of abusive narcotics and over excessive drinking, Tyrone ended up being another lost soul trapped in his own neighborhood without any means to escape. However, life changed for Tyrone and he was able to break away from his life of drugs, alcohol, and poverty to a life of business, education, and suburban living. Now a former business owner, a college student, and dedicated family man Tyrone has taken the time to write down his story for all to read.
