About the Author

Dr. BerNadette Lawson-Williams currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband Don. She strongly advocates the necessity for women to maintain an open mind, open spirit, and open heart, so they can be open to the joys of life. Her hobbies include playing golf, skiing, dancing, and creative writing. BerNadette received her undergraduate degree from South Carolina State University, and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and the United States Sports Academy. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and a native of Temple Hills, Maryland.

Tracie K. Thomas is a healthcare consultant and writer who resides in the Charlotte, NC area. Her educational goal is to complete a graduate degree in Public Health, so she can influence health policies and reduce disparities in healthcare that impact women, and other underserved populations. She feels her participation in this book project was an exercise of empowerment, and hopes to inspire other women to pursue their dreams. In her spare time she enjoys photography, decorating, and sharing laughs with family and friends.
