About the Author

Doris Tobias is a New York-based freelance food and wine writer. Her articles have appeared in national publications including the New York Post, House Beautiful, Harper's Bazaar and The Wine Spectator.

Jean-Paul Picot owns the Manhattan bistro. La Bonne Soupe, which he and his wife opened in 1973. He attended the esteemed L'École Hotelière in Lausanne before embarking on his career as a chef-restauranteur in Paris and New York City.
