Educating Readers Through Authoring a Book

Susan Norris is on a mission to eradicate sex trafficking in the United States. Using her voice for hope, she began her mission by educating others as an international speaker. She never imagined that putting her words down in writing would be something she would do. Then, she started blogging and new opportunities arose to reach even more people through writing.

Increasing Her Reach

Norris was beginning to hear upsetting stories of 9-year-old children being trafficked in her own quiet suburb outside of Atlanta. She knew she needed to do more to spread awareness so she began to write her debut novel, Rescuing Hope.

After countless hours of researching and writing Rescuing Hope, Norris decided to self-publish with iUniverse. By self-publishing with iUniverse, Norris was able to put her message in a book in hopes of educating readers and inspiring them to take a stand.

Susan has been named the southeastern U.S. spokesperson for “Caged No More,” a new feature film created to raise awareness of human trafficking. Starring Kevin Sorbo, Alan Powell, Cassidy Gifford and Emmy Award–winning actress Loretta Devine, the film debuts in theaters nationwide on January 22, 2016.

Susan Norris talks about her experiences as a self-published author.

Calling others to act through her words

"When I learned the statistics about children in the sex trafficking industry in the United States of America, I realized that something had to be done. And it was important to write Rescuing Hope to inform people that over 100,000 children are trafficked in our nation every year." Through the story Rescuing Hope, Norris gives the victims of sex trafficking a voice and creates a catalyst for action from others.
