The iUniverse Difference

Publishing, Editorial Services, Marketing, and Book Sales Specialists

New authors may find the publishing process a bit overwhelming at first. Don't worry—iUniverse is here to help you embark on a publishing adventure that is as smooth and rewarding as possible. Our specialists will accompany you along your journey to becoming a published author.

Publishing Consultants (PC)

Publishing consultants are available to answer prospective authors' questions and to gather information regarding the publication of your book. Our publishing consultants will help you choose the appropriate publishing packages and assist you with the simple step-by-step submission process as needed.

Publishing Services Associates (PSA)

Once an author submits a manuscript, a PSA is assigned to the author and will be responsible for coordinating the publishing process between the author and iUniverse. The primary goal of the PSA is to provide you with a courteous, efficient, and high-quality publishing experience by explaining our products and services, answering questions, and helping you get published.

In-House Editorial Staff

Our in-house editors guide a project through pre-production editorial evaluations and services. The editorial group also works closely with the PSA department to ensure a project's smooth transition from pre-production into the later production stages.

Editorial Services Associate (ESA)

As part of our experienced staff of editors, the ESA uploads manuscripts, moves projects into and out of editorial services, and assists authors with their editing questions.

Freelance Editorial Staff

The freelance pool of editors and evaluators we use have extensive and varied experience in the book publishing industry. Our evaluators review your book, performing a manuscript checkup that assesses your work to be sure that it has fulfilled the basic requirements of a published book. They are experienced book-publishing professionals, including editors, literary agents, and book reviewers. Our editorial service providers have extensive hands-on book editing experience. They have backgrounds in traditional book publishing across a full range of genres and categories, and many also bring expertise from academia and journalism.

Marketing Consultants (MC)

Once your book begins the production process, our dedicated marketing consultants will work with you to understand your marketing and book selling goals. Then they will apply their years of experience to help you select the marketing and publicity services that will help you reach your goals.

Booksales Consultants (BC)

As your book gets ready to go live, our booksales consultants will help you identify the best way to achieve your book sales goals. One of the key elements is making sure you have enough books on hand to sell or use for promotional purposes. This is especially important when your book is first introduced because it helps build momentum for future sales. Fortunately, as an author you can take advantage of author-only discounts on purchases of more than 100 copies.
