There's a comedy and a tragedy living on top of your head—it's called your hair.
As a performer, I've been doing a pretty successful show called Hair Theater, a humorous account of my life through the evolution of my hairstyles.
I thought, 'Now wouldn't this make a great book?'
'Not so fast', said fifty agents.
Having survived the world's worst home permanent, I was not about to let rejection get in my way. So I decided to self-publish my book, Hair-A-Baloo, with iUniverse.
Why iUniverse?
I did my homework and compared iUniverse to another leading self-publishing company. And there was no comparison. The staff from iUniverse was far more accommodating and responsive. They were real people who wanted to help me, not salespeople who didn't really care about my book or me.
Most importantly, the iUniverse staff showed a tremendous respect for me as an author. They understood that publishing a book is like birthing a baby—and they were excellent coaches! Each time I had a question, not only did they answer me, they comforted me. They understood that Hair-A-Baloo was my life's work and that I had put my heart and soul into it. iUniverse gave my book the intensive care it deserved.
Now if only I could find a product that could do that for my hair ...
