Mayhem in the Midlands Showcases iUniverse Authors

Lincoln, Neb. - May 13, 2004 - Mystery fans will have the opportunity to peruse their favorite iUniverse authors at Mayhem in the Midlands, the fifth annual mystery convention co-sponsored by the Omaha Public Library and Lincoln City Libraries May 27–30, 2004, at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Omaha. Events at Mayhem in the Midlands include panel discussions, author book signings and a dealer room.

The four iUniverse authors exhibiting at Mayhem in the Midlands are:

• Alice Spencer, author of The Old Detective's Daughter, is the daughter of mystery writer Ross H. Spencer. The Old Detective's Daughter, Spencer's first published mystery, is based in Chicago and is comprised of several mysteries occurring simultaneously.
• Karen Stokes captures both revenge and mystery in Talion: A Medieval Mystery. Set in fifteenth century England, Talion follows the journey of Darkess, a disowned twin by a wealthy knight who seeks to claim her birthright.
• Joel Weinsheimer's first work of fiction, Untimely Ripped, is an iUniverse Editor's Choice title. Weinsheimer teaches literature and writing at the University of Minnesota, but visits Minnesota's Lake Country each weekend, which inspired the setting for Untimely Ripped.
• Michelle Woody is exhibiting her first novel Figment of the Heart, which centers around a vice cop who must race to solve a case of conspiracy before falling victim to the conspiracy herself.
