Gulf War Strategist, MSNBC and Lehrer NewsHour Analyst John Warden's Book Available Through iUniverse

Lincoln, NE (April 7, 2003)

Colonel John A. Warden was the primary architect of the United States' highly successful air campaign during the 1991 Gulf War. Warden is also the author of The Air Campaign: Planning for Combat, which served as the basis for much of the campaign's strategy. Published by iUniverse, the book is available at iUniverse.com, Barnes & Noble.com and Amazon.com. The most recent iUniverse edition contains an epilogue explaining how these ideas were used in the 1991 Gulf War.

In use at military colleges around the world, the book is receiving increased attention due to the current war in Iraq and Warden's visibility as an analyst for MSNBC's war coverage.

"We're honored that an author with Mr. Warden's credentials chose to publish this important work through iUniverse," says iUniverse President and CEO Kimra Hawley.

In his book My American Journey, Secretary of State Colin Powell describes Warden as "a leading Air Force intellectual" whose ideas comprised "the heart of the Desert Storm air war." In Doesn't Take a Hero, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf says that "Warden and his team put together a remarkably good plan... designed to cripple Iraq's military without laying waste to a country."

Warden claims that the principles of military strategy can be applied to many areas of everyday life - such as landing a job, buying a home, or developing a business plan to compete in today's uncertain, fiercely competitive business climate.

"Determining objectives, evaluating obstacles, and setting timelines are things we all do—or should do—every day," says Warden. "While the stakes in combat may be higher, these ideas can be used to achieve many goals."

Colonel Warden uses these concepts in his consulting business (www.venturist.com) and explains their business application in his latest book, Winning in FastTime.
