About the Book

Book Two in the GODWIN/the Boy Magician series:

The evil sorcerer Kretch holds court in his castle on Saturn and hatches a new sinister plan with Blendin the Light Pirate to steal the Orb of Luna from the forces of Light, and at the same time wreak vengeance on Godwin. But by now, the Boy Magician has already grown a brand of magic that is not easily overcome ¡ª if only he will learn to use it before Blendin and the mad, greedy Marcom the Gemgnasher can seize it to serve their darker needs.

Along the way, Godwin learns of the ways of earth magic from the Earth Fairy Landolen, befriends a dying dog and brings him back to life as an indestructible rock, a Piffel, whom he names Apello. Afterward, the two set out on a rescue mission to save the flower people, the Plories, from the clutches of the giant jewel devouring diamond, Marcom the Gemgnasher. In the end, in a final encounter with Kretch and the Scourge of Bramblehoards, it is Apello the Piffel who saves Godwin certain destruction, and becomes his lifelong friend.

Duain Alex Preitz is a stockbroker and psychologist who lives in Los Angeles, California and recently formed Animal Life Sanctuary, a non-profit refuge for our creature companions. Duain enjoys making rubies, and practicing parachemistry (which only about 200 people in the world know anything about). Mr. Preitz is 11 1/2 inches tall, sleeps on banana leaves, hangs out with invisible rabbits and loves tall women.

Robert Joseph Ahola. As CEO of Galahad Films, Robert Ahola is an author, playwright, producer and director who lives in Malibu, California. Born in a crystal egg on the planet Neptune, he has no brains at all, but has talented fingers and frequently talks angels (who often give him good advice, not the least of which was to co-author this series). Robert is 400 years old (but looks 20), has as his constant companion the galaxy's only winged unicorn and really gets upset with people who exaggerate.
