About the Book

This book is based on Danielle's successful journey through experts, educators, and the unenlightened as she tackled her learning disabilities. It is the story of being her mother and advocate through the good, the bad, the insane and the euphoric. It is a story of our family who through sheer tenacity survived Danielle's L.D. diagnosis, along with a very dismal educational outlook.

Learning Disabilities are a fact of life for tens of millions of people. Learning Disabilities are an individual, family and community reality. We talk with people everyday who are either going through this battle themselves or know someone who is. We provide rules to maneuver through life understanding, accepting and conquering these unique challenges. We offer our story which proves that the power of commitment, strength, and love is the ultimate solution.

About the Author

Nancy Graves has built a successful career as a bank executive, but measures her real success in life as a parent to Danielle and Megan. She lives in the New York City area.

Danielle Graves graduated from the University of Denver in 2006. She is a Mental Health Therapist with a day treatment center in Denver. She isn?t finished with her education yet, she plans to earn a doctorate degree in psychology with the ultimate goal of having a private learning consultant practice designed to work with children who have learning disabilities and their parents. Danielle still rides horses.

Nancy and Danielle are available for personal speaking engagements and we welcome the opportunity to visit with parent organizations, learning centers, teacher in-service meetings, bookstores and all interested groups either in person or via web casts. We offer inspiration on the subjects of tackling learning disabilities and successfully managing the associated life challenges.
