About the Author
L. E. Ward has published 1,000 long and short articles on American film history as a contributing editor (1982-2001) to such national film periodicals as Classic Images, The Big Reel, and Movie Collector?s World. He also contributed to newspapers, little magazines, poetry anthologies, encyclopedias; to national gay and naturist magazines; and as a poet and contributing editor to a national literary quarterly, The Lost Generation Journal.
He wrote his first poem, at age 30, in January, 1975. His life?s work in poetry (1975-) has been published by iUniverse. The Collected Poems (1999) was followed in swift succession by Portraits of Life, The Child Who Loved Movies, and The Land Within.
A lyric poet and a humanist, Ward uses free verse as well as?more often than not?traditional forms. His topics include memoirs of his childhood; gay Eros; the ancient world; the movies; the arts and literature; the lives of writers and other artists; world paintings and painters; and human rights.
