About the Book

This book answers these questions and many more as it traces the development of our modern scientific understanding of the physical world. The historical approach allows us to see not only how the content of the modern physical sciences was formed but also how cultural, philosophical, and religious influences and attitudes have played a major role in that development.

About the Author

Dr. John Cramer is Professor of Physics at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has almost thirty years of experience teaching undergraduate physics and physical sciences and has authored numerous popular science articles. He is the author of the book How Alien would Aliens be?
