Libidacoria chronicles the author's sexual journey from using men to satisfy her own "beast" to finding that one special man who obsesses her and ultimately opens her up for the possibility of love again. Her graphic use of language and raw directness are intermingled with a subtle desire for romance and connectivity giving this book a unique insight into the feminine psyche. Libidacoria paves the way to her upcoming second release, Keys. Keys will chronicle the author's journey to find love.
I write these odes,
Tributes to men
Who never care
As much as
I allow myself to.
I'm the fuckgirl.
Fulfillment for an hour-
Never longer,
Sometimes shorter.
I end up empowered
But always unfulfilled.
Quite an empty existence
For someone
With so much to give.
I hold out hope
That one day,
One will hold the power
To stop me in my tracks
Before I ruin
The future
With my tainted past.
But as of yet,
They never last.
So, I am left
To my locust-like nature
To destroy the hope of life
To feed my own.

******************
You lie before me
And lie to me
At night
In dimmed light.
Talking in future tenses
While acting in the present.
The weight of your words
I carry
Into the daylight
Where they dissipate
Too fast
For me to catch them.
I could bear the load
If you could
Anchor their value.
But you don't
Remember my name
When the lights come on.

K—, the surname of Kristie LeVangie, has been a freelance poet for nearly 28 years. She’s been previously published in numerous anthologies and chapbooks, but this is her first complete collection, which showcases her edgy style and graphic use of language.
Kristie has won several awards for her writing, including the Malcolm Sedam Fictional Writing contest (Miami University), Verse Writer’s Guild of Ohio (Ohio Poetry Day Association), World of Poetry’s Silver and Gold Poet Awards, and was a Who’s Who in Poetry recipient.
In March of 2008, Kristie ventured into the podcast world. "Shades of K—: Chronicles of Libidacoria" quickly gained popularity and is now being downloaded and streamed in over 58 countries around the world. Not only does the podcast feature her essays and poetry in her own words, it also showcases music by independent and local musicians. Available on iTunes by searching Libidacoria.
In May of 2008, Kristie partnered with Harry Rooster, The Professor of TPBN, to record a song called, “I’m Not Asking for Love.” Available on iTunes, the song captures the raw sexuality of Kristie’s poetry with the industrial vibes of Harry’s composing for one hot number.
In 2009, Kristie ventured into the talk show realm. Tauting quite possibly the smart-assiest sex show on the web, Libidacoria: The Late Night Talk Show can be found on BlogTalkRadio.
Kristie is currently working on her second and third books simultaneously. Keys will a collection of love poems without the frills and niceties of traditional love poetry. True to her style, Kristie examines love writing with all the passion, directness and raw energy present in her current release, Libidacoria: In a Plain Brown Wrapper. Volume 3, Bitter, will be a collection of angry, resentful poetry.
What will be a 4-part collection is intended to mimic the life cycle of a relationship. From that initial infatuation in Libidacoria to falling in love with Keys to the tragic endings in Bitter to the rebuilding of self in Raw, this author is sure to take you on an emotional ride through allegory, semantically jolting language and twisted romanticism.
Kristie grew up in Franklin, Ohio, where she graduated with high honors from Franklin High School. She went on to obtain a degree in both Psychology and Sociology from Miami University in Ohio. She currently resides in Middletown, Ohio, with her four children and her dog, Daisy.
