This much-needed bibliography and filmography brings together lists of books about Alzheimer's and caregiving, including biographies, poetry, and even fiction, as well as in instructional and dramatic films.
Brenda Parris Sibley’s mother had Alzheimer's disease, and Brenda was her caregiver for sixteen months in 1994-1995. She died at age 80 after four months in a nursing home. Begun in 1996 in her mother’s memory, Brenda’s Web site, A Year to Remember, http://www.zarcrom.com.users/yeartorem/, has grown to over 400 pages. Included are her caregiving journal, poetry, photos, links to Alzheimer’s and caregiving resources, contributed poetry, stories and articles, and a bibliography and filmography.
Brenda is Technical Services/Reference Librarian at Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama. She is also the Library Webmaster.
Brenda’s first book, Waiting for the Morning: a Mother and Daughter’s Journey through Alzheimer’s Disease was published by Writer’s Club Press / iUniverse in 2001. It includes her poetry, caregiving journal, treasured family photos, and a brief bibliography and webliography.
