Author Solutions plans Bloomington headquarters expansion

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Book publisher Author Solutions Inc. plans to spend more than $4 million on a Bloomington headquarters consolidation that could see it add more than 140 jobs.

The company said Thursday it would consolidate its Shanghai, China, publishing operations into its southern Indiana campus. State officials say the company employs 230 people in Bloomington and 50 in Indianapolis.

Author Solutions provides self-publishing and marketing under the brands AuthorHouse, iUniverse and the Web-based brand Worldclay. The company is expected to publish 17,000 titles in the United States this year.

State officials offered performance-based tax credits and training grants to the company.
