One of the key features that makes an iUniverse book distinct from other self-published books is our professional evaluations for both editorial quality and marketing potential. The evaluations are included in certain publishing packages and are available to purchase separately as well. The cornerstone of our editorial services line-up, the Editorial Evaluation is a manuscript checkup in which a publishing expert assesses whether a manuscript has fulfilled the basic requirements of a professionally published book.
When you receive an Editorial Evaluation, the evaluator doesn't just tell you what's amiss; he gives you a specific recommendation for the exact level of editorial work your manuscript needs. We call this recommendation an Editorial Rx Referral.
For authors who purchase the Bookstore Premier Pro or the Premier Pro package, we also include a marketing evaluation, which helps determine a book's market readiness and an author's commitment to helping make the book successful. While it is no concrete predictor of success, it does help determine whether the book has some of the critical elements needed to help make it commercially successful.
When you receive a Marketing Evaluation, the evaluator will not only tell you what is missing from your plan, but he will also give you a specific recommendation for the exact level of changes needed.
