Pre-Manuscript Services
Preparing your manuscript for submission can be done as simply as letting us take care of getting it ready to be published.
This submission option allows authors to submit their manuscript via mail instead of submitting their work online. This does not include data entry.
Necessary corrections will be made before the manuscript can be put through the editorial and layout processes.
More extensive corrections will be made before the manuscript is put through the editorial and layout processes.
With Standard Data Entry, you can send us your printed manuscript and we will convert it into a working digital file. This excludes any handwritten documents or newspaper-type articles.
Materials you provide that are typed in a foreign language, such as Spanish, French, German, etc., are converted and placed it into an electronic format for publication with our Romance Data Entry service.
Handwritten manuscripts, newspaper articles, and materials that are not on standard sheets of paper, like small note pages, post-its, etc., can be converted into a working digital file for an additional fee.
Images larger than are larger than 11x17” can be scanned by iUniverse and placed in your book.
Authors who send in hard copies of original black and white images can have them scanned and placed into the correct place in your work.
If this service is chosen, iUniverse will make every effort to work with manuscripts created using any of a wide variety of software packages.
When authors send in graphic files, they sometimes require an extensive amount of work. With this service, iUniverse will work to ensure graphics appear correctly in the final product.
If the standard manuscript submission process of sending one file is not followed, files must be merged or combined in order to ensure a correct outcome.
If you choose to submit your manuscript with the images included in the body of your work, iUniverse must extract these images to properly create a professional layout of your book. This service will cover the cost of extracting the images to ensure proper interior layout.
Post-Page Layout Services
iUniverse allows you to make changes to your book after the manuscript has been laid out by our designers. Charges will be applied.
If your book has gone live and you find problems, errors or other issues which need to be corrected, we can resubmit the file to the printer to update future copies of either your softcover or hardcover version.

If you would like to make changes to the title of your book after it has been laid out by our designers there is a small fee. Title changes at this stage impact many areas within the book.
When there are a significant number of author errors in the first galley, you can supply us with a revised manuscript that we can reformat into a new galley.
